Exclusive Interview
In June 2001, we had the chance to interview Torrie Wilson of WCW. Please note this Interview was conducted before she made on debut on WWF TV.
How did you get involved in wrestling?
I went to a house show in Los Angeles with a friend that knew a lot of wrestlers and we went backstage. I met Eric Bischoff and Kevin Nash among many others that night, and Kevin asked me a week later if I would be interested in working with them some. I said yes, and things just escalated from there!
What have you been doing since your release from WCW?
Taking acting classes, photo shoots, relaxing at home and hangin' out on the Florida beaches!
What do you think about Vince McMahon buying WCW?
I think it will be a great opportunity for all of those that are lucky enough to be a part of it.
What was the locker room scene like?
To me it seemed like one big happy family, of course not everyone is going to get along or like everyone always...but for the most part it was a nice, fun atmosphere.
Who did you get along with the most backstage?
Well, for obvious reasons, first it would be my boyfriend Billy Kidman...I would say as far as the girl's go I hung out with Stacy Kiebler the most. I pretty much got along with everyone though.
How did it feel going out in front of thousands of fans screaming your name?
Pretty scary, but also pretty awesome...obviously, the more that you have to do, the more nerve racking it gets. It's not fun to mess up in front of all those people!
What do you miss most about wrestling?
The performance aspect...as well as the people I worked with and met.
Who in wrestling do you think is a great role model?
Right now? Chyna is a great role model for women. She definitely shows that a confident strong woman is sexy.
What do you think it takes to be a role model?
Gosh, it takes all kinds...I am definitely not an expert on that one. There are lots of people in this world that would be considered a role model, and each has their own distinct mold that is all their own, and that is why they are a role model to others. My role model would be completely different from yours I'm sure!
Do you think you are a role model?
There are certain achievements that I have made in my personal life that I feel have made me a role model to others that might have been in the same situation...and again, only to those people that can truly relate to my past problems I think might consider me as a role model. I would probably more say influence than role model though, that would be a better word.
What CD is in your CD Player right now?
Dance Party 2000....good for working out!
What do you think about the following people:
Chyna?
Strong person and has worked hard to get what she has achieved.
Madusa?
On a personal level she is really nice.
Billy Kidman?
Greatest wrestler and sweetest guy in the world!
Trish Stratus?
Sweet girl who knows how to work it!
Lita?
Never met her, but she rocks! She is my favorite woman in wrestling right now.
The Hardy Boyz?
Very athletic
Vince Russo?
Nice, don't know him well enough to say more than that.
Major Gunns?
very sweet girl
Midajah?
very sweet girl also!
What do you like to do in your free time?
Workout, go to the beach, ride jet ski's, play with my dogs, read, watch movies...
Would you ever follow in Chyna's footsteps and pose for Playboy?
Perhaps, I have learned to never say never!
How often do you work out?
5 days per week.
If there is one thing your fans probably don't know about you what would it be?
I am pretty shy!
Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
