In February 2002 we had the chance to catch up with Rena Mero, better known to many as former WWF Women's Champion Sable. In this interview she will tell fans what she has been up to lately and more.
Hello Rena and thanks for doing the interview, let's start off with asking what have you been up to for the past year?
Answer: I filmed 4 movies this past year, a Disney/Touchstone Film "Corky" with Chris Kattan that was at theaters in October. I also filmed 3 movies for television that I stared in "Ariana's Quest", "Sins of the Realm" and "Tears at Dawn" Look for them to be out sometime later this year. I also have my own comic book. What is your status in the world of wrestling as of right now?
Answer: Right now I am currently the CEO of the XWF. You can check out there website at: www.xwfwrestling.com
Can you tell us anything about the XWF?
Answer: We had our first TV tapings in November and I must say I was very surprised at how well everything went. The management and wrestlers involved are some of the nicest people in this business. Everyone worked hard and had a lot of fun. In Feb. I will be on tour with the XWF Feb 22, in Amarillo, TX at the Amarillo National Center. Feb. 23 in Lubbock, TX at the Fair Park Coliseum Feb. 24th in Hobbs, NM at the Lea County Event Center
A Question everyone wants to know is Rena Mero gonna be appearing in the pages of Playboy once again?
Answer: You mean you haven't seen enough? LOL I have always had a great relationship with Playboy. I have been to the Playboy mansion many times. Hef and I have become friends. It's like a big extended family. I never say never. You may see me in Playboy in the near future.
What do you think of the divas performing in the world of wrestling now?
Answer: There are some talented and beautiful women in the wrestling industry. I applaud them for working so hard. I still would like to see the women take on a more significant role than just T & A.
Who has been your favorite person to work with?
Answer: I would have to say Luna. She and I had some memorable moments in the WWF. She played her character so well!
Who has been your least favorite person to work with?
Answer: I always said: If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, Don't say anything at all. Let's leave it at that!
Is there hope that we might see Rena Mero in the WWF again someday?
Answer: Like I said "I never say never!"
What do you see in the future for your life?
Answer: I am very hopeful of the XWF getting a TV contract and really taking off. I would also like to continue to make movies. Most important is spending time with my husband Marc our daughter Mariah our 3 dogs and cat.
What rumor about yourself do you wish people would stop believing about you?
Answer: People are going to believe what ever they want, whether it's true or not. I don't feel I need to defend myself in any area. I feel very fortunate to be where I am today. I will never forget where I came from.
What would you like to say to all your fans out there?
Answer: I appreciate all the support over the years. Without you I would never have the opportunity to do what I enjoy so much. Thank You!
