Interview with: Fyre
In March of 2001 I had a chance to get a interview with former WCW Nitro Girl, Teri "Fyre" Byrne. Teri is now apart of a music Band who are known as Diversity 5 and I suggest you all take the time to visit there official site at Diversity5.com and also check out there music.

How did you get involved with WCW

I became involved with WCW when Kim Page spotted me training at a gym andasked me to audition for the Nitro Girls. I was in the right place an the right time.

What was it like in the WCW Locker-room

The locker room was initially a fun place with lots of laughing and jokes between the girls. As the company changed, so did the atmosphere in the locker room.

Who came up with the name Fyre and did you like the character and name

I came up with the name Fyre and had no other considerations. It seemed the natural name for my character.

Would you ever return to WCW if they offered you a contract

I can't say that I would never go back to WCW but it would depend soley on the role that I would play and the nature of the show. So much has changed in the last year that I don't know if I could return in the same capacity and perform in a positive nature.

How were the other women of WCW to work with

The other women were great to work with. In the end, there were so many women every week that I didnt get to know many of them.

What was it like entering a arena with all eyes and attention on you

At first is was a very scary experience but then it became second nature to me to be in front of an audience so large. It was always a great adenaline rush!

Did you enjoy doing all the WCW Media appearances and Photo Shoots

I always enjoyed meeting the fans but some photo shoots were more enjoyable then others. They are not all as glamorous as people imagine.

What are your thoughts on the recent WCW Sale and do you think WCW will turn around now that you have new owners and management

I am skeptical of the future of WCW, so much has happened in the last year it will take a LOT to change the show and a burst of new people with new ideas.

Who did you hang around with most backstage

I was always with the Nitro Girls of course, but all the guys were great fun too.

Did you make many friends while in WCW

Of course, I made many good friends and still see many of them in Atlanta each week. I do keep in touch and talk regularly with many wrestlers from WCW.

What are your opinons of WCW during the time that you were there

When I was there, WCW was at its peak and the excitement was overwhelming. It was at its highest point in ratings ever. Since then, the show has changed so much and many good people have left. I am saddened by the changes.

Do you still follow WCW via TV and PPV Shows and possibly even House Shows

I do not watch much wrestling any more.

Can you discuss the events leading to you leaving WCW

I left at a turning point within WCW. A new director for the team came in and completely revamped the Nitro Girls. The show changed as well and we stopped dancing for weeks. I left during all the changes.

What was it like to work with the Nitro Girls

The Nitro girls were the best and incredible to work with. We overcame so
much and accomplished so much together as a team.
