Exclusive Interview with: ASYA
In January of 2001 I had a chance to get a lot of questions answered by one of the most powerful female Wrestlers in WCW, being Asya.
How did you get involved with WCW.
Kevin Nash and I used to train in the same gym. He asked if I wanted to join WCW.
What was it like in the WCW Locker-room
Before showtime,very hectic.
Who came up with the name Asya and did you like the character
WCW came up with it and I love the character.
Did you ever feel like WCW were using you as a way to get a dig in at the WWF and Chyna.
To be honest, I did not even know who Chyna was when I got started.
Would you ever go to the WWF if they offered you a contract/deal
I'll listen to anybody.
I have heard you have been released from your WCW Contract is this true
Yes that is true.
Which wrestler was it most fun working with
Madusa by far.
Do you feel the WCW used your character correctly
It is their character and they can do what they want with it.
How did you like your time in WCW
I loved every minute of it.
What was it like working with such stars as Ric Flair, Chris Benoit and Shane Douglas
Awesome
How did you enjoy your role as Ric Flair's on-screen mental nurse
It was a blast. Ric and the mental patients made it a lot of fun.
Do you enjoy being a valet or a active wrestler more
Active wrestler by far but being a valet can be difficult at times.
How were the other women of WCW to work with
I got along with pretty much everyone.
Do you see a future for yourself in wrestling
Yes
What was it like entering a arena with thousands of fans shouting your name and holding up signs aimed at you
The biggest rush that I have ever experienced.
Do you enjoy doing all the WCW Media appearances
Yes we have a great PR girl named Donna Seeman who got me some good gigs!!!
What are your thoughts on the recent WCW Sale and do you think WCW will turn around now that they have new owners and management
This is going to be great for WCW. With a team like they have now, how can they lose.

Who do you hang around with most backstage
Madusa and Torrie Wilson
Did you make any close friends in WCW
Yes
Do you keep in contact with anyone in WCW
Yes quite a few people.
What are your thoughts on the Nitro Girls
They get the crowd going.
What were your thoughts when Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko left WCW for the WWF
I was upset because they are all my freinds and I thought we worked well together.
Do you have any comments on the way WCW used the Demon Character
I just wish they kept the Vampiro angle going. It was getting very popular when they ended it.
What kind of workout do u do
I'm currently training for the IFBB Jan Tana Pro Classic in August. My training is pretty hardcore right now.
How much time do you spend on training and keeping fit
Off season 2hrs a day/ Pre contest 3 to 4hrs a day.
What fitness advice would you give to people looking to folllow on in your footsteps
Start with the basics and don't over train.
Do you have any comments on Chyna's Fitness Video
Have not seen it yet.
What do you family think of your career
They have always been supportive. I have a great family.
Do your family support what you do
They have supported me since I was 9 in all my athletics.
Do you have much time to spend with your family.
Yes and no. I wish I could spend more time with them.
Have you followed the wrestling industry all your life
Not really, I followed it a little bit in the 90's.

The big 3.

The Demon, Madusa, Nash, Benoit, Eddy Guerrero, Chavo, The Hardy Boys, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore, Rey Mysterio, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, and a few more.

If you could wrestle anyone who would it be and why
There's a few. Can't name just one.
If you could be any wrestlers valet who would it be and why
The Demon. There is just so much cool stuff we could do together.
What do you do in your spare time
Hang out with our 6 dogs and our pot belly pig.
Where do you see yourself in 15 years time
Having a family and hanging out on our ranch with some horses.
Have you ever made any worth mentioning mistakes when performing Live
Too many to mention.
What entrance theme do you like most
Anything Rob Zombie related. Rob Zombie kicks ass!!
What entrance theme do you dislike most
Anything that sounds disco.
What has to be your greatest wrestling moment
Just being with WCW was one great ride. I also loved wrestling the Filthy Animals on a PPV in Canada.
If you had to share a house with any wrestler who would it be and why
I already do, The Demon.
What would you call your best physical feature
In the world of bodybuilding, my legs and back. I've been told.
Do you feel the XFL will be a success
I don't know.
Do you feel WCW can one day become the #1 Wrestling Federation now they have new owners and management
Absolutely!!
How has your wrestling career effected your life as a whole
Changed it completely for the best. I met my husband because of WCW.
Do you still get much attention when you are in the public
Yes, all the time. They want to see me on tv again.
How are you finding married life with Dale Torborg.
All that I have to say is "WOW, He rocks my world!!!"
You have been compared in the past with Chyna due to you both being bodybuilders what do you think of her doing Playboy
It is a great step for muscular women.
