Former WWE Diva and current SHIMMER star Serena Deeb wrestled a try-out match at the recent TNA Impact tapings in the Impact Zone.

Deeb lost to Winter (aka Katie Lea Burchill), a fellow former Diva and a former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion, following a “Catatonic” backbreaker according to Wrestling News World.

It is unknown if the match got Deeb, who’s been wrestling on ROH and WSU iPPV events as well as working in Japan for the SMASH promotion, a contract or not. Regardless, this is continuing a trend of WWE signing former Divas, as they’ve done with Mickie James, Victoria aka Tara, and Winter.

Despite rumors and “confirmed” stories posted on other wrestling news websites, Pro Wrestling: EVE Champion Britani Knight has denied claims that she’s signed a deal with the WWE.

Posting on her official Facebook page, the SHIMMER star said: “woahhh thanks the congratulations but i dont even know whats going on yet! Hopefully though guys fingers crossed!”

What has been confirmed is that Knight did wrestle a try-out match at the Smackdown taping held in the United Kingdom last night, following a similar try-out last year in November. Knight is 18 years old but has been wrestling for a number of years already, and has been a rising star thanks to her work in EVE and recent United States debut in SHIMMER alongside her real life mother Saraya Knight.

Indiependent wrestling promotion Family Wrestling Entertainment has announced a match-up between two former WWE Divas, one of whom is a current TNA Knockout.

Former Divas Champion Jillian Hall will take on the former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Winter (formerly Katie Lea Burchill in the WWE) at an event in Brooklyn, NY on May 14th.

This is said to be Hall’s first post-WWE match, and follows a tragic miscarriage resulting in the loss of her unborn child. For fact fans out there – both women were supposed to be on a “DivaMania” signing tour together before Hall pulled out of it due to becoming pregnant.

Japanese promotion SMASH has released a video of former WWE Diva and current SHIMMER and WSU star Serena Deeb. In the video, she comments on her opponent upcoming in Japan called Kana.

It’s worth a watch just to see Serena’s short black hair, a move on from the completely bald look she had as part of the Straight Edge Society.

On last night’s edition of Monday Night Raw, a new Divas champion was crowned, as well as a teaser for the much anticipated debut of a former TNA Knockouts Champion.

Brie Bella defeated Eve in a singles match to capture the butterfly belt. Eve attempted to prevent the use of “Twin Magic” by having the referee draw an X on Brie’s hand. Later in the match, the twins tried the switch only for the official to clearly see that Nikki Bella did not have an X so ordered her out. However, the distraction allowed Brie to sneak up on Eve and plant her with a Facebuster/X-Factor to get the three count.

No doubt there will be those disappointed with the sudden, unhyped title match and subsequent title change, but considering that WrestleMania lacked a Divas Championship match, at this point something is better than nothing.

Prior to the match, a “distrubing” video of a hand flicking the hell off of a doll was shown, with an unseen person in the background with dreadlocks. This surely can only mean the arrival of Awesome Kong in the WWE, and it looks like she’s after the “Barbie Doll” Divas of the show.

In addition, it seems a storyline for Eve is in motion after she snapped at both Gail Kim and Natalya backstage, stating that the Divas locker room is all about being in it for themselves and not for anyone else. Bitter much? Or is this a fire put in place to face off against Kong in the future?

Also, in Tough Enough news, no potential Divas were eliminated from the show this week, although Miss USA Rima was in the bottom three after it was said she wasn’t “progressing” in her training. Funny, how the woman with no training experience prior to the show is taking the longest to learn. At least she isn’t saying her favorite match of all time is Melina Vs Alicia Fox.

We can bring you coverage of SHIMMER’s recent DVD tapings held a couple weeks ago which brought together talent from across America, Japan, and Europe along with former TNA Knockouts and a former WWE Diva.

The biggest news from the tapings was the crowning of not one, but two new SHIMMER Tag Team Champions during the weekend of shows. Firstly, the Japanese duo of Misaki Ohata and Hiroyo Matsumoto ended the long reign of the Canadian Ninjas of Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews at the first taping. However, their reign ended barely twenty four hours later when ROH star Daizee Haze and another Japanese talent Tomoka Nakagawa defeated them for the belts.

SHIMMER Champion Madison Eagles successfully defended her title three times over the weekend, remaining champion.

The Belle Saints (c) retain over Rick Cataldo & Monique

Jessicka Havok vs Alicia went to a Double DQ. After the match Alicia challenged Havok to an Uncensored Rules match at the 6/25 iPPV.

It should be noted, that rather strangely Mercedes Martinez agreed to defend her WSU World Championship during the King & Queen tournament after being confronted before the tourny by Brittney Savage, meaning a singles title was defended in mixed tag team matches. And they say TNA has some strange booking!

Line up for the Uncensored Rumble IV show:

WSU World Championship Match
Mercedes Martinez (c) defends against J-Cup Tournament winner Brittney Savage

Uncensored Rules Match
Jessicka Havok Vs Alicia

Retirement Match
The retiring Cindy Rogers Vs SHIMMER founder & former ROH star Allison Danger (making her WSU debut)

WSU Spirit Championship Match

And of course, the Uncensored Rumble itself with the winner getting a shot at the WSU World Championship. And in case you’re confused by me listing three different women as being WSU Tag Team Champion, Jazz and The Belle Saints are using the “Freebirds Rules” so that all three are recognized as champions.

UK based Pro Wrestling: EVE has been forced to change venues after a Police investigation found the building lacked the correct license to hold a wrestling event. Just days before the first night of the highly anticipated EVE Championship tournament, the full brackets of which have just been released as well, EVE announced the shocking news of the change of location for the event, but fortunately it will still be held in the same city just with an earlier starting time.

“At 2.54pm on Monday April 4th Pro-Wrestling:EVE was informed by The Royal British Legion in Norwich (the venue for the Friday April 8 EVE DVD Tapings) that the venue was cancelling the event.” A press release from EVE stated. “The reason we were initially given was that there had been complaints made to the policeabout the venue holding a women’s wrestling event. These complaints lead to the Police Licensing Department investigating the venue thus the venue cancelled the upcoming show. It has since emerged that the Royal British Legion who have held regular wrestling events at their venue in the past did not have the sufficient licensing in place as claimed by the venue management upon accepting the hire.

EVE Management scrambled to find a replacement venue so as to not cancel the Friday event and after a few hours we struck gold thanks to our good friends at Project Nightclub on Riverside in Norwich City.”

These “complaints” by one or two “people” seem to ignore the countless wrestling fans, and the wrestlers themselves, who would have lost out if a replacement venue could not have been found. It’d therefore fortunate that one was found, and even better in the same city so those with pre booked travel and accommodation plans were not disrupted or lost money because of this mess. Let’s hope that EVE suffers no more hiccups before the big tapings!

Former WWE Diva and Playboy covergirl Ashley Massaro has reappeared after a lengthy period under the radar, as a guest on former WWE Superstar Shane “Hurricane” Helms’ webshow “Highway 2 Helms”. Alongside fellow former Survivor contestant Johnny Fairplay, the Diva Search winner takes shots of alcohol and has a free-spirited time with the three, with language that’s very much non-PC at all.

The headline grabbing points of the episode will no doubt be cracks directed at current TNA Knockout Velvet Sky and current WWE Diva Kelly Kelly. Fairplay mentioned Sky, who was once the girlfriend of Helms, to which Massaro stated “F*** that b****” before putting on an expression of mock shock, as did Helms but in a more jokey way. Later, Fairplay mocked Massaro by saying “I’ve seen your elbows, I’ll take my chances”, with the former Diva’s “Starstruck” finisher elbow drop mentioned and Fairplay stating that he’d be safer taking it from Massaro than he would from Kelly Kelly.

The video containing said comments is below, and has language that is most certainly NSFW.

As previously noted, Fairplay’s wife is a contestant on the returning Tough Enough series, while Massaro is taking part in a “DivaMania” tour of autograph conventions with fellow former WWE Divas.

After the events of RAW last night, a six-person tag team match has been set for Wrestlemania featuring an iconic Diva, and a “star” of reality TV show Jersey Shore.

It will be Team Lay-Cool of Michelle McCool and Layla teaming with Dolph Ziggler w/h Vickie Guerrero taking on the combination of John Morrison, Diva of the Decade and multi-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of MTV’s Jersey Shore “fame”.

No doubt Snooki in the ring will get publicity for the WWE, and it’s also a shot at TNA who have twice used Jersey Shore cast members (and former members) to get the same kind of publicity. It had been rumored before that this six-person match would have Kelly Kelly teaming with Morrison and Stratus instead, but it seems she’s been bumped off in favor of the woman who, if you’ve seen Jersey Shore before, can at least take a punch.

Still, there’s always a hope for yet another Divas battle royal at ‘Maina, right? Yes, that’s sarcasm.

After rumors spread online when the profile and photoshoot section for TNA Knockout Daffney vanished from TNA’s website, the original Scream Queen has confirmed the news on Twitter that she is gone from TNA. Furthermore, she has filed a lawsuit against the companies for “injuries” she suffered while working there.

“Yesterday my picture was taken down off of the TNA roster page. My contract expires today and TNA did not renew it.” Daffney posted on Twitter. “I do not know if it has anything to do with it, but I’ve filed a Workers Comp claim against them for injuries I’ve sustained in the ring and my lawyers said to not go into anymore details.”

Daffney was injured badly after a match with former Knockout Rosie Lottalove after she sat down on Daffney, as well as suffering a broken arm during a spot where Abyss sent her through a barbed wire covered table. Since then Lottalove was released from the company, and Daffney has been rarely used bar from being a one-time partner to Sarita against The Beautiful People during the Knockouts Tag Team Title tournament.

Time will tell where Daffney appears next. The obvious answer would be a return to SHIMMER or a WSU appearance, but Texas-based Anarchy Championship Wrestling recently announced Daffney would make “an appearance” there at their upcoming Queen of Queens Tournament. We will have to wait and see.

RedHotDivas.com wishes Daffney the best of luck with her future career after TNA. Keep on screaming!

Europe’s top all-female wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling: EVE released today its latest DVD, entitled “Episode V: Empire Strikes Back – Final Chapter”. It’s no secret that we at RedHotDivas.com love us some EVE action, and thanks to a pre-order I can bring you a “RHD Recommends” review of this release, going match by match and showing why we think this is worth your money.

1. Catch Division Rematch – Jenny Sjödin defeats April Davids with a modified Dragon Sleeper.

Prior to the match, there’s an interview with Sjodin by Chole Dale. I can’t say I was blow away by it, but come on, Sjodin has the ring work to more than make up for this one.

I raved about the original Catch Division match the two of them had, and let’s just say that this match didn’t disappoint. As far as sequels go, this surpassed the original. While the first match had a bit of feeling out at the start, they went right at it with kicks, grappling, mat work, and threw in wrestling moves to keep it still “pro wrestling” rather than strictly MMA which is what on paper the match resembles more. I’ll also say that April Davids can give MsChif and Daffney runs for their money in the screaming department, I swear my blood ran cold for a moment when Davids first yelled out. The only down point was at one time, after Davids escaped a leg hold she got up, used a big spin kick to Sjodin, and THEN sold the hurt leg. A minor point in an otherwise great match. The finish, coming straight when the third round started, was well done with some brutal German Suplexes into the finishing submission. Great, great work by both women.

A post match mini-interview with a random guy in jeans and T-shirt (really EVE?) was what it was, putting over that both women are in the same “gym” and are training partners. A third match to settle the score might be too much wishful thinking?

Current WSU star and former WCW star April Hunter has released a video of her WSU Hall of Fame acceptance speech through her YouTube account. The video starts with SHIMMER star and former TNA Knockout Nikki “Roxxi” Roxx bringing her out.

The Hall of Fame ceremony, that also honored former WWE Women’s Champion Ivory and the late great Luna Vachon was filmed prior to WSU’s recent iPPV event, to be released as a seperate DVD. One has to wonder though if WSU is shooting themselves in the foot as Vachon’s induction was shown at the start of the iPPV, and now this speech released for free. With no offence intended to Ivory, will people really want to pay for a DVD to see one speech they haven’t yet seen?
